As the festive season draws near, the delightful aroma of Gujiyas or Karanji fills Indian homes. While these delicious pastries can be enjoyed throughout the year, they hold a special significance during Holi and Diwali celebrations across the country. Made from maida, oil, suji, dried fruits, nuts, spices, and creamy Nestlé MILKMAID, our Gujiya recipe turns these half-moon-shaped treats into more than just a flavourful indulgence - they become symbols of bite-sized joy and togetherness.
Our easy Gujiya recipe features Nestlé MILKMAID in the filling, giving it a smooth, rich texture. Say no to grainy, overly sweet fillings - MILKMAID's luscious creaminess blends beautifully with other Gujiya ingredients, creating a delectable, well-balanced filling.
Making these festive treats is no fuss! Begin with well-prepared maida dough, divided and rolled into thin rounds. These form the perfect base for the flavourful filling. A generaous dollop of the MILKMAID-infused mixture adds creamy richness, and the dough is then folded into crescent shapes and sealed with a gentle press.
As the Gujiyas fry, a magical transformation occurs. Nestlé MILKMAID’s sweetness and creaminess blend with cardamom and crunchy nuts, filling your kitchen with an irresistible aroma. Each bite offers a taste of tradition and love, wrapped in these small, joyful parcels.
This festive season, avoid store-bought desserts and make Gujiyas at home. Share these tokens of love and celebration with family and friends!

Show more > Show Less >Certainly, you can choose an alternative to deep-frying by baking your Gujiyas. Preheat the oven to 200°C, follow our Gujiya recipe, place them on a baking sheet, and bake for 20-30 minutes until they turn a lovely golden brown.
Even if you follow the Gujiya recipe dedicatedly, sometimes they can turn out hard for different reasons.
To fix this, add more ghee or oil to the Gujiya dough, knead less, or adjust the filling’s moisture with more Nestlé MILKMAID.
If your Gujiya's filling leaks, it may be due to improper sealing or overfilling. Prevent leaks during frying by firmly pinching the edges to ensure a tight seal. Also, avoid overstuffing, as excessive filling can break the dough.
Gujiyas can stay fresh for around 1 to 2 weeks when stored in an airtight container at room temperature. You can even refrigerate them to extend their freshness for slightly longer.
